The first place I decided to go on my fall break was Trent, Italy. It's in the northern part of Italy. It's most famous for the council of Trent, "(1545-1563) which gave rise to the Counter-Reformation." And it is also know becuase that's where th Wikipedia can give you more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trento.
Trent was a cute little town with friendly people. I thought it was really interesting because I could understand their Italian better because they speak slower, but when in the middle of a sentence they switch to German, it was a little confusing. The town seems like the main strip is where everyone wears their Sunday bests struts their stuff on Friday nights. I enjoyed it, but one day was enough to see it all.
The morning I left was pretty foggy, but gave a cool look the the landscape on the train up. This is near Verona, the famous place of Romeo and Juliet:
These are the Alps my friends! The train ride up was amazingly beautiful, I didn't do anything but look out the window.
These are some of the gardens at the fort where the Council of Trent was held:
This is the main Piazza of the small town of Trent, with a fountain of Posiden and the main cathedral behind..
Me sitting on the steps of the fountain:
The small quaint little town had a nice little park. There was grass and this pond and 'the biggest wikcker duck in the world,' at least that's what the sign said.
This is a traditinoal dish of Trent, I can't remember the name but it was amazingly good.
It was hot and hearty, it was dip your bread in me good, with potatoes and tender beef (seemingly austian) but with Italian spices like rosemary and parsley. Supper yummy.
